About Kate
Mythic Voice is a space that opens the door to your voice and to the power of myth to inspire your journey.
My vision when I first moved to Co. Kerry in 2018, was to set up a school of spiritual studies with a connection to the land and myth in Ireland. This centre of learning was to be located in a place of beauty and power in this county of magical Munster light.
In the spring of 2020, I began to do audio recordings of meditations and music. I let go of the vision to have a centre in a specific location on the land. And since then I have been crafting these for the website. As a distillation of all of my work over the past thirty five years.

I moved to the town of Listowel in the South West of Ireland in 2018 after twenty years of healing work in the North of Ireland. I live in a beautiful woodland area close to the River Feale, enjoying the peace and the soft light in County Kerry.
In the past twelve years I have been working in the North of Ireland – doing talks in the Navan Centre in Co. Armagh, retreats for women in Benburb Priory, Co Tyrone, and lecturing on the Sacred Feminine in Queen’s University Belfast. The final work I completed in the North in 2019 was a series of retreats called Healing Border Waters. With a dedicated team of women, we worked along the waterways – lakes, rivers, wetlands and loughs – of the border counties. Using the power of water to do healing work and restoration of the energy of the land. We completed this work with a Bear Medicine retreat close to the Carlingford Lough and the mountains of Mourne in Co Down.
In 2017 I published the book entitled: ‘Macha’s Twins: A Spiritual Journey with the Celtic Horse Goddess’. In the cycles of Irish mythology known as The Myths of the Ulster Cycle, Macha is a key character. She gave her name to the town of Armagh in Northern Ireland and to the ancient site outside the town known locally as Emain Macha.
Publishing this book was the culmination of many years of work with women and the original story of Goddess Macha. It was a watershed time where I completed a cycle of healing work in Northern Ireland. This gave me breathing space from the intensity of those years and opened the door to move to County Kerry.
My Story
I grew up in Lisburn in the North of Ireland and spent my summer holidays in Ballycastle on the coast of County Antrim – where my mother was from. These early years gave me a love of the sea, the wilds and the land.
Music and song is very much core to my work. I began to learn the violin just before my 8th birthday and continued playing music all the way through girlhood, becoming leader of the County Down Youth Orchestra in my last year of school.
This love of the land has been a consistent thread throughout my journey in life. Originally a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Science and Pollution Control and a lecturer on this subject, I have now spent over 30 years teaching people how to connect with the healing energies of the earth.

Training in Myth and Shamanism
I trained for four years with Paul Rebillot in his North American School. Becoming a Gestalt facilitator and teacher of experiential process. This work combined Mythology, Gestalt, Drama and Ritual to create experiences of healing and transformation. I loved all of this work and applied it to the Myths of Ireland, where I focused particularly on the stories of the Celtic Goddesses.
Also in the U.S., I trained with Carol Proudfoot Edgar in Bear Medicine over a period of five years. It was a female orientation to the learning of Shamanism. Drawing on the strengths of women and the innate wisdom in our bodies and souls, it resonated deeply with my journey to find the Feminine light in the land. In a circle of dedicated women practitioners, I was given the skills to delve deeply into the living world of spirit, nature and profound healing techniques. This was a most enjoyable time.
Celtic Goddess Journeys
My connections in the U.S. led me to Celtic Connections with Suzanne Stevens and Carlotta Tyler. Together we spent twenty years leading spiritual journeys for women to connect with the transformative power of the Celtic Goddesses in the land, ancient sites, history and myths of Ireland. These were memorable experiences at a pivotal time when the Goddess energies were being awakened in the land. These memories live on forever.

“As someone of Irish descent, I find that Kate Fitzpatrick’s scholarship and practice provide an excellent opportunity for personal reflection and growth. I have participated in her workshops in the U.S. and the Celtic Journey trips to Ireland, in addition to reading her book “Macha’s Twins”. Her work is enjoyable, informative, and enriching.”
